 About Prague Prague, the capital and the most populous city of the Czech Republic, was founded as a castle on
the
right bank of the
large European river Vltava. The city was important trading center because of its location on main European roads.
In 973
Prague was
already a bishopric. The city was chosen for capital of the kings of Bohemia (some of them being emperors of the Holy Roman Empire).
Many
tourists from
around the world come each year to Prague. Here they enjoy one of the world's richest collections of architecture.

Nouveau to Baroque, Renaissance, Gothic and Neo-Classical are lined along the streets.
